Is Jesus the "mediator" only for anointed Christians? The term "mediator" occurs just six times in the Christian Greek Scriptures and Scripturally is always used regarding a formal covenant.
Moses was the "mediator" of the Law covenant made between God and the nation of Israel. (Gal. 3:19, 20) Christ, though, is the "mediator of a new covenant" between Jehovah and spiritual Israel, the "Israel of God" that will serve as kings and priests in heaven with Jesus. (Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24; Gal. 6:16) At a time when God was selecting those to be taken into that new covenant, the apostle Paul wrote that Christ was the "one mediator between God and men." (1 Tim. 2:5) Reasonably Paul was here using the word "mediator" in the same way he did the other five times, which occurred before the writing of 1 Timothy 2:5, referring to those then being taken into the new covenant for which Christ is "mediator." So in this strict Biblical sense Jesus is the "mediator" only for anointed Christians.
The new covenant will terminate with the glorification of the remnant who are today in that covenant mediated by Christ. The "great crowd" of "other sheep" that is forming today is not in that new covenant. However, by their associating with the "little flock" of those yet in that covenant they come under benefits that flow from that new covenant. During the millennium Jesus Christ will be their king, high priest and judge. For more detailed information, see AidtoBibleUnderstanding, pages 1129 and 1130 under "Mediator"; also God’s"EternalPurpose"NowTriumphingforMan’sGood, page 160, paragraph 10; also TheWatchtower issues of February 15, 1966, pages 105 through 123; November 15, 1972, pages 685 and 686, under the subheading "Leading the Way to a New Covenant"; and April 1, 1973, pages 198 and 199, under the subheading "The New Covenant."

Dear Jam,
WELCOME to the forum. I am sorry you have experienced this from your brother. My husband had his younger elder brother did the exact same thing to him. He told my husband never to call him again unless he got his head screwed on straight. Real loving hugh?? That seems to be what they do when you have questions. It is so frusterating!! You would think that if they really believed your life was at stake, then they would drop everything and get the answers to the questions you have. Or at least listen to what your questions even are....it is hard to believe family would treat family they claim to love like this. Anyhow, hang in there. We are glad your here. We can relate to what you are going through!
Sincerely,
Lady Liberty

Dear Coffee_Black,
Thank you for letting the forum know Cognac was on the up and up. Some needed confirmation....although I never did. I believed her and Hypnotic, and was worried they would be insulted. I hope they come back to the forum, so they can know we are there for them, as others have been here for us.
Sincerely,

My friendss....
by ajws inmy friends.... you are misguided.
i do not mean to attack you, but i have a vew issues i would like to discuss.. first off... .
witnesses the bible says that man cannot even comprehend heaven... how would anyone know that 144,000 people will live in heaven when the old testament says in the first book genesis and got parted the waters from the world and the heaven so earths population is almost 4 billion people... how is only 144,000 people... or as i guess 144000 godlike beings going to inhabit a world as big as that ... which brings me to the next point 144000 godlike beings f they are godlike then there are 144,001 gods which is polytheistic.

Dear Cognac,
WOW!! I finally finished reading the rest of this thread. My head is swimming with so many different things I want to say to you. But where to begin. My heart goes out to you, as does everyone elses, as it is obvious from reading all the other replys to you. We know your frusteration, your shock, the anger, and the great sadness and fear you no doubt feel. These are all normal emotions that you will most likely experience as you continue your journey.
If I may suggest to you from experience, that you research everything, and don't just take someones word for it. Take the information you discover, and verify it, prove what you are finding to be true. That way you will never doubt yourself later. (Ask for actual copies of literature if you can't find them, from us here.) Also, keep close to Jehovah and Jesus. Keep praying for Holy Spirit. When I was discovering everything like you, I was so overwhelmed, I didn't know which way was up. So I prayed for Holy Spirit, and for Truth, no matter what it was.
I prayed that God let me find the Truth about the "Truth". I asked that if it was what I had always believed, to help me realise this, and let my question go, and to quit questioning. But if, what I had always believed to be the truth was not the truth, please help me to see it and to see what was the truth. I totally relied on Jehovah and Jesus to help me. At times it was hard, because I had been brain washed all my life to believe I could not have a relationship with Jehovah if I was doubting his "faithful slave". So it was a inner battle. At times I was very afraid. My mother who left the organization with my father 2 years before we did, gave me a wonderful scripture on a magnet to remember: 2 Timothy 1:7...For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. And too, to use the God given brain I was given, to ask questions. Amazingly, my prayers were answered, and I was more determined then ever to get to the bottom of my questions. And as you are finding, one question, leads to a 1,000 others.
I truely felt Jehovah was answering my prayers. Now I look back on it and know that they were drawing me out of the organization. Imagine that! Holy Spirit leading me out! That still sounds funny ..it has been 3 years in March since we were at our last meeting. But since then I can assure you that I am still happily married, we have a lovely teenage daughter who is respectful, moral, and loves Jehovah and Jesus. We have not fallen apart and become these horrible people that I had been told would happen if we didn't come back.
I cannot count how many times we have prayed to Jehovah since leaving the organization for help, guidance, reassurance and Holy Spirit. And EVERY time, our prayers are answered. Only Jehovah and Jesus can read our thoughts. And there is not doubt in our minds they have not held our hand through this whole journey.
So, I guess what I am trying to say, is just because you may feel you have been lied to by the organization, does not mean that Jehovah and Jesus have lied to you. They are leading you to Truth, because obviously your heart is ready for truth. Let them guide you. You are in safe hands. So many "throw the baby out with the bathwater" so to speak. They blame God because of their pain. I pray that those will one day realise that it was God who drew them out.
There are so many wonderful people here on this forum, who like you have been down this road. They have been and continue to be pillars to me and my family, and are here for you as well. Hang in there!!! Take one day at a time.
Sincerely,
Lady Liberty

New Light
by jefferywhat ini swear more new light is available here than in the corridors of the wts.
in leviticus the israelites are instructed not to eat things strangled or already dead, but if they do, they are only unclean, not stoned to death.
so why has it been upgraded by the wts to be this unforgivable sin?

Dear Jeffery,
Looks like others have posted what you were probably looking for. Here is something I posted a while ago. Gives one food for thought.

Hello all..
OK, I have a question for any takers: Deuteronomy 14:21 says this:
21
"YOU must not eat any body [already] dead. To the alien resident who is inside your gates you may give it, and he must eat it; or there may be a selling of it to a foreigner, because you are a holy people to Jehovah your God....I realise under the Mosaic law they were forbidden to eat unbled meat. So, it is obvious that this is why they could not eat a animal that they found that had died, say from natural causes. But why were they allowed to give it to a alien resident or a foreigner??? The Witnesses teach that they are still to obstain from blood today. And that this was not done away with with the Mosaic law. So my question is: Why would God encourage them to make a profit off of having someone else sin by eating blood?? Seems to me this could be a good reasoning point to show that it was a law for them at that time. I wonder if anyone else sees what point I am trying to make. Any takers??
Sincerely,
Lady Liberty
